In this role, you'll play a crucial part in managing our supply chain and ensuring that materials flow smoothly to our manufacturing processes. Role Overview:
As our Buyer & Planner, you'll be at the heart of our supply chain operations, working closely with the VP of Operations. Your main responsibilities will include overseeing procurement, maintaining optimal material flow, and ensuring cost and delivery metrics are met. You'll also be involved in negotiating contracts, managing the purchasing cycle, and implementing our Enterprise Requirements Planning System.
Key Responsibilities:
Procurement Management: Oversee the procurement process, from defining specifications to managing the purchasing cycle and ensuring timely material flow.
Supplier Selection & Negotiation: Choose suppliers based on product quality and long-term partnership potential. Negotiate contracts covering costs, warranties, delivery terms, and penalties.
Performance Monitoring: Track and evaluate supplier performance using KPIs, providing feedback to ensure high standards and effective communication.
System Implementation: Help implement and manage our Enterprise Requirements Planning System.
Process Improvement: Challenge existing processes and strive for the most effective execution in all aspects of your role.
Additional Duties: Take on other responsibilities as needed to support the team and company objectives.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's Degree in a business-related field from an accredited institution.
Experience: 3-7 years of experience in supply chain, purchasing, or demand planning, with experience managing remote suppliers and manufacturers.
Preferred: Master's degree in Supply Chain Management or an MBA, and CPIM certification from the Association for Supply Chain Management.
Skills: Effective written and verbal communication, strong mathematical and analytical abilities, and knowledge of data analysis and forecasting tools. Proven expertise in inventory management and building strong supplier relationships.
