Shift Hours: 6 AM - 6 PM CST
Pay Rate: $20/hr, with the potential to earn up to $27/hr based on performance metrics (productivity and accuracy).

Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced Medical Coder with expertise in Risk Adjustment and Hierarchical Condition Category (HCC) coding to join our team. The ideal candidate will be certified with a CPC or CCS (from AHIMA or AAPC) and possess at least two years of experience in Risk Adjustment/HCC coding. This position plays a vital role in ensuring accurate and compliant coding for our healthcare organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Review and code medical records and encounters for diagnoses and procedures, adhering to Risk Adjustment and HCC coding guidelines.
Apply ICD-10-CM, CMS-HCC, and other relevant coding standards to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Verify the completeness, accuracy, and integrity of coded data.
Address and resolve any discrepancies between clinical documentation and diagnosis coding.
Stay current with the latest coding guidelines, rules, and regulations related to Risk Adjustment and HCC coding.
Maintain HIPAA compliance and uphold patient confidentiality and data security.
Collaborate with healthcare providers and other team members to resolve coding queries and clarify documentation.
Participate in ongoing coding education and training to enhance skills.
Submit reports on coding activities, accuracy, and trends.
Assist in coding audits (internal and external) to ensure compliance with coding practices.
Identify and suggest improvements to the coding process and documentation accuracy.
Requirements:
CPC or CCS certification (required); CRC (Certified Risk Adjustment Coder) or higher-level certifications are preferred.
At least 2 years of experience in Risk Adjustment and HCC coding in a healthcare setting.
Strong understanding of ICD-10-CM coding guidelines and CMS-HCC risk adjustment methodology.
Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and coding software.
Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to work independently.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration.
Understanding of HIPAA and other compliance regulations.
