Job Description

The Mechanical Maintenance Planner must be experienced in maintenance job planning with skills and knowledge to create a job package from the work order scope. The job package includes all information about required resources including Labor, Materials, Tools, Equipment, and Services, and cost estimate needed to ensure safe, effective, and efficient execution of the work.

Responsibilities:

• Drive assigned Maintenance Field Planning Activities to achieve maximum value for the business.

• Conduct field visits and walk out the job with plant personnel to ensure completeness and accuracy of scope.

• Identify / document all task & activities necessary to execute job plan.

• Identify / solicit Safety information & requirements to perform job tasks.

• Identify / collect all specific procedures and “the plant's Most Effective Technology” (MET) documents as relevant to the job to include in job package.

• Prepare job plans and job package per specified scope and include Labor, tools, equip., materials, services, and cost needed to complete job.

• Input job plan into SAP indicating the required resources, materials, and services.Utilize other information technology tools such as Adept, EDMS and MOC to optimize the planning process.

• Initiate improvements in the planning process / tools and teach others in these improvements.

• Ensures job plans adhere to Client EH&S Standards and local regulations/standards that are legally required or more stringent than Client EH&S Standards

• Skills and Knowledge

• Develop/manage Task List

• Develop (plans for) job packages

• Demonstrate proficiency in use of the approved maintenance information systems (ex. Maintenance work order, Maintenance purchasing, Maintenance planning and scheduling, pipe specification system, etc.)

• Field plan

• Recognize safety needs

• Utilize technical resources

• Collect specific procedures as relevant to the job (e.g. Safety) to include in job package

• Access and utilize Most Effective Technology (MET)

• Recognize deviations from Most Effective Technology and recommend upgrades

• Conduct job site inspections

• Specify materials for requisitioning (parts, cost, deliver, etc.)

• Participate in a Root Cause Analysis

• Approved maintenance information systems (ex. Maintenance work order, Maintenance purchasing, Maintenance planning and scheduling, pipe specification system, etc.
