Title: Delivery Driver & Service (Mon-Fri; Home Daily)

Function:  Shipping

Location:  Central Southwest Houston Area, TX 77085

Employment: Full Time, Non-exempt, Hourly

Compensation : $18.00 -$20.00 starting rate of pay per hour with overtime available

POSITION SUMMARY

RAM Windows & Doors is looking for a Delivery Driver & Service.  The Delivery Driver position is a touch freight position, which means drivers load, unload and move merchandise (commercial and residential Windows and Doors) at customer’s location or jobsite. The work schedule is Monday - Friday around 6AM and will run until your day is complete making multiple stops. Must be able to meet the physical demands and work environment characteristics that are listed below.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Operates company vehicle to deliver commercial and residential windows and doors to customer's place of business and with helper will need to load and unload the commercial and residential windows and doors.
  • Perform "pre-trip safety check" inspection of vehicle before driving to ensure mechanical, safety and emergency equipment is in good working order.
  • Check all load-related documentation to verify all information is accurate and complete.
  • Maneuver trucks into loading and unloading positions.
  • Responsible for securing load in truck and/or trailer.
  • Drive to and deliver customer orders according to a predetermined route.
  • Must be able to interpret maps and utilize GPS systems to determine vehicle routes.
  • Load and unload commercial and residential Windows and Doors at customer location or jobsites. May require multiple stops along route.
  • Perform "post-trip safety check" inspection of vehicle. 
  • Perserve product quality and minimize damages during delivery.
  • Write and report any damages or discrepancies in orders delivered.
  • Performs daily inspection of company vehicle and general maintenance, including fueling and cleaning.
  • Adheres to all company and state driver guidelines. Operational performance in the following areas: safety, vehicle care, inspection and maintenance, work standards, procedures and policies, and customer satisfaction.
  • Participates as part of the manufacturing and distribution team, assisting in facility asks and responsibilities when needed.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
  • Posses a Valid Texas government issued Driver License, CDL is a plus but not required
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Minimum 1-year work-related driving experience
  • Clean driving record
  • Pass employment background check, MVR reports, and any other employment checks
  • Posses familiarity with local roadways and towns within the route areas
  • Good oral and written communication skills to communicate effectively and professionally with customers, co-workers, and management
  • Prioritize work assignments and manage time
  • Attention to Safety and detail is required
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English effectively
  • Bi-lingual is a major plus; preferred English/Spanish

  • Prolonged sitting, standing, talking, listening
  • Maneuvering of body including pushing, lifting, pulling, walking, climbing, kneeling, bending, stooping; frequent use of hands and arms; handling merchandise
  • The ability to lift and move up to 100 lbs.; push/pull 100 lbs.
