Senior Investment and Financial Reporting Accountant
Location: Orlando, FL (Remote options available for East Coast residents)
Salary: $125,000 - $150,000 per year

### Job Overview:
As the Senior Investment and Financial Reporting Accountant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Finance Department across a variety of functions, including consolidation, reporting, investment management, financial planning & analysis, and treasury activities. Your work will be essential in ensuring the accuracy of financial statements and contributing to the development of investment strategies within the organization.
### Key Responsibilities:
- Consolidation & Reporting: Prepare consolidated group financial statements and accompanying notes in accordance with US GAAP. Develop and review accounting memos and journal entries.
- Account Reconciliation: Reconcile underwriting accounts from the general ledger to source documents. Ensure the alignment between the general ledger and investment reconciliation reports.
- Financial Analysis & Communication: Analyze financial results and effectively communicate findings to management.
- Compliance & Process Improvement: Ensure compliance with accounting policies and controls while driving process improvements to enhance the efficiency of financial statement support.
- Audit Support: Manage relationships with internal and external auditors and provide necessary documentation for GAAP and statutory reporting.
- Internal Controls: Establish and enforce robust internal controls to protect company assets and policies.
- Investment Strategy Support: Support the development of investment strategies and provide recommendations aligned with company guidelines.
- Investment Oversight: Evaluate investment managers, custodians, and associated fees. Provide investment data for managers to ensure compliance with regulatory and internal guidelines.
- Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with teams in Underwriting, Finance, Capital, and Legal to ensure alignment and smooth operations.
- Liquidity & Capital Management: Oversee local liquidity management and collaborate with banking partners on liquidity solutions and internal loan documentation.
### Skills & Qualifications:
- In-depth understanding of investment products and accounting treatment for various asset classes, including fixed maturity, equity, cash equivalents, and alternative investments.
- Advanced knowledge of US GAAP, particularly in the preparation of financial statements.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the use of pivot tables and data analysis functions.
- Familiarity with capital, debt, and currency markets, as well as investment KPIs and ratios.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners.
### Education & Experience:
- CPA, ACCA, ACA, or equivalent certification required.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance.
- 5+ years of experience in financial reporting under US GAAP, with a preference for candidates with Big 4 experience.
